Lately, everywhere I turn I keep hearing this air horn sound effect. I know that it has origins in the dance clubs, but now it’s turning up in movies, TV shows, commercials and even as a sound effect that some people create using their mouth.

You may know it as a Hype Horn, DJ Horn, Hip-Hop Horn, Reggae Horn, Disco Horn, or simply just an Air Horn.

So, my question… when did this become a “thing” and who is responsible? Does it have origins from Studio 54 back in the 1970’s or is a recent annoyance? Help!!! This has to stop!
